You A Chef is a small family business, and we are proud to call Perth home.
At the heart of it is Chef Jenn, who has been cooking since she was just nine years old. Born in Kajang, a small town in Malaysia known across the country for its satay, she was the eldest in her family and learned early. From a young age she was cooking for her younger brothers and sisters, helping out at home the way an eldest child so often does. What started as looking after family soon became something she loved. That was where her passion for cooking, and for cooking for others, was first born.
From those early beginnings, Jenn went on to work as a chef in Singapore before making the move to Perth. Here in WA she has run several cafes and restaurants and cooked at the Singapore Airlines lounge, building years of experience across some of Asia's most loved food cultures along the way.
Through it all, the reason she cooks has never really changed. She simply loves making good food and watching people enjoy it. Seeing someone tuck into one of her meals is what makes her happiest.
For Jenn, cooking is also about generosity. You will always find big, hearty portions, because she believes no one should walk away from the table still hungry. Every meal is made the way she would cook for her own family, with real ingredients and a lot of care.
Her mission is a simple one: to bring the taste of Malaysia, along with other Asian fusion flavours, to people right across Perth. She loves giving customers more choices and more reasons to come back. Whether you are a little homesick or just craving a proper, satisfying Asian meal, you can find her food in most local supermarkets, ready whenever you are.
